Update: Evelyn has returned!
Greetings Adventures!
It has been a while since I last made an appearance.
I must apologise for the silence, life has a habit of throwing unexpected twists and turns our way. Today’s post will be a little different. Since I have been away for a few months, I wanted to share a quick update: where I have been, what’s next for this blog and my writing, and what you can expect going forward.
Where did Evelyn vanish off to?
Firstly, I made some changes to my personal life. With my health improving by the day, I wanted to spend more time with the people I care about and venture out on more little adventures.
Which led me to a magical outing with a dear friend to see the enchanting singer Aurora live in concert. Her performance was breathtaking... in more ways than one, as I unfortunately fell victim to the plague (and a few other charming illnesses). I was unwell for nearly a month but thankfully had a wonderful support system to help me through.
Once I recovered, I found myself swept up in the chaos of catching up on worldly commitments, including preparations for a life-changing event:
I got married!
My husband and I celebrated our love and finally completed all the paperwork needed to seal it in the eyes of the law. We gathered with loved ones and created a dreamlike day full of laughter, magic, and shenanigans.
During our honeymoon, we soaked in the quiet moments, and I found time to reflect on life, love, and what kind of future I want to build. That clarity sparked a wave of inspiration and new ideas for my writing journey.
Now that I have returned to the rhythm of daily life (must make coin to live, after all), I have been slowly re-establishing my writing habits and working toward a healthier balance between work and passion. The past few months have only strengthened my desire to write, to create art, to build worlds, and to breathe life into unforgettable characters. My determination to publish has been renewed.
Which brings us to the future of my writing.
I have never been more committed to finishing and sharing my books. Writing is the love of my life (apologies, dear husband), and I am ready to give it more attention than ever before.
So, here’s what you can expect moving forward:
1. A Special Blog Series Throughout June!
A four-part series exploring the heart of world building—behind-the-scenes insights, my personal brainstorming process, and a few sneak peeks at lore to bring the world to life.
2. A Return to Social Media!
Expect memes on Instagram, daily ramblings and chaos on Threads, and a shiny new email newsletter for subscribers (you can sign up at the bottom of my website!). I will be socialising again, so do not be shy, message me, reply to posts, and help build a cosy little community around our shared love of stories.
3. Monthly Character Reveals!
Each month, I will be revealing another character. This will be an ongoing event until the book is ready for beta readers.
4. Beta Reader Invitations and Sample readings!
That’s right! When the time comes, I will invite some of you to beta read chapters of my novel and give feedback to help shape the creation of the book series. Two lucky readers have already previewed the first two chapters and shared their thoughts. No experience required—just a love for stories and a desire to be part of this journey. Make sure you are subscribed to the newsletter to stay in the loop for future opportunities.
